II.IV. Angkalanthus oligophylla Balf. f.
Angkalanthus oligophylla is a species of plant in the family Acanthaceae endemic to the island of Socotra. It is the sole species in genus Angkalanthus. Extremely rare on Socotra with very small area of distribution, restricted to the central part of the island. The goat’s grazing is the most serious threat for the species. Currently only 121 individuals are known but it could be overlooked, heavily grazed individuals are very inconspicuous.
