II.I. Boswellia Roxb. ex Colebr.
Boswellia is a paleotropical genus consisting of 24 known species growing in arid to semiarid tropics on calcareous, rocky terrain, from Western Africa, across Arabia to India. Most of the species grow in African region however, the highest concentration of the species, about 11 endemic species, is found on Socotra Island (Thulin, 2020).
